Israel’s Draft National Fusion Strategy at a Glance

In October 2026, Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure published the country’s first national fusion strategy, a draft now open for public comment.

Its core decision: rather than racing to build its own commercial reactor, Israel will become a strategic “Tier-2 Hub”, an indispensable supplier of technologies and components to the global fusion industry. The strategy points to Israel’s edge in dual-use technologies developed in its defense and tech sectors: high-power lasers and electro-optics, power electronics and RF systems, AI and simulation, and precision engineering and vacuum systems.

MILE assisted the Ministry in writing the strategy over the past year. Our one-page executive summary covers why the timing matters, where Israel can lead, the recommended path and what happens next.
